Two pickpockets caught red-handed by police: Two Peruvian pickpockets, a man and a woman of no fixed address, were arrested by the police on charges of aggravated theft. On the second of December, the two criminals had stolen a wallet from an elderly woman in Belum, then went on to withdraw one thousand euros using the victim's bank card, which helped the agents to identify the faces of the two and the licence plate of the car they used. In the afternoon of the following day, the same car was seen as it was entering Pordenon, and the police began tailing the vehicle. The two Peruvians stopped inside a supermarket where, shortly after, a woman suffered a theft, and then headed to another shop, also a supermarket, where the woman in particular was seen moving about with suspicious behaviour near certain customers. As soon as they left, the two thieves found themselves face-to-face with the officers who blocked and searched them: on the Peruvian woman was found a wallet just stolen from a woman in the supermarket. Later, a search of their car turned up thirteen thousand seven hundred euros and seven credit cards. The two thieves were promptly arrested and taken to prison.

Un sborsarûl: a pickpocket. Nouns ending in a vowel + l form their plural by changing the final l to i. Examples: sborsarûl, sborsarûi (pickpocket, pickpockets); arbul, arbui (tree, trees); nûl, nûi (cloud, clouds); cjaval, cjavai (horses, horses); pêl, pêi (stand of body hair, body hairs).
Un bancomat: This identifies not only a bank machine but also a bank card. Examples: i laris a àn fat saltâ il bancomat (the thieves blew up the bank machine); tirâ fûr cent euros cul bancomat (to withdraw one hundred euros with a bank card).
Dongje di ciertis clientis: near certain {female} customers. From this, we understand that the customers were female. Had they been male, or a group of customers where at least one male was present, the Friulian would have read: dongje di cierts clients.

And so I decided with my girlfriend to pull off a job in Belum. We stole a wallet from an old lady. Then we went looking for a bank machine and withdrew a bunch of money from her account. But we didn’t know that the cameras had recorded us, not just our faces but also the car’s licence plate. The next day, in the afternoon, we were coming into Pordenon, planning another hit. We went into a supermarket to try and rob some sucker. There, a woman had left her wallet right out in the open, and my girlfriend grabbed it without a second thought. As soon as we stepped outside, the cops stopped us, and on my girlfriend they found the wallet that had just been stolen. Then, in the car, they found the money and credit cards. We ended up in handcuffs and taken to prison.
