A somewhat older news item now, but a good one because it allows for review of some important Friulian vocabulary.
The driver of a garbage truck (il vuidadôr di un camion des scovacis) lost control of his vehicle (al à pierdût il control dal mieç). The truck flipped (il camion si è ribaltât) onto its left side (sul flanc çamp) without implicating other vehicles (cence cjapâ altris mieçs). To get the driver out (par tirâ fûr il vuidadôr), the firemen had to cut the front glass (i pompîrs a àn scugnût taiâ il veri denant). The man was taken to hospital (l’om al è stât puartât in ospedâl) by helicopter (cul elicotar). The firemen lifted the truck (i pompîrs a àn tirât sù il camion) by using two cranes (doprant dôs gruis). / Riferiment: La Vôs dai Furlans.

Tirâ means to pull, to draw. The news report uses both tirâ fûr (to pull out, to extract, to withdraw) and tirâ sù (to pull up, to lift, to raise, to elevate). I pompîrs a àn tirât fûr il vuidadôr: The firemen pulled out the driver {got the driver out, extracted the driver}. La grue e à tirât sù il camion des scovacis: The crane pulled up the garbage truck {lifted the garbage truck, raised the garbage truck}.
Il camion si è ribaltât sul flanc çamp: The truck flipped onto its left side. Had it flipped onto its right side, we should say: sul flanc dret (variant forms: sul flanc diestri, sul flanc gjestri). Review: il braç çamp (the left arm); il pît dret (the right foot); la man çampe (the left hand); la orele drete (the right ear); de bande çampe de cjase (on the left side of the house); de bande drete de strade (on the right side of the road); volte a çampe! (turn left!); volte a drete! (turn right!).
